The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook this morning. It said that the Joplin area is under an elevated risk of lightning and excessive rainfall, and a slight risk of tornado, hail, and thunderstorm wind damage. They said that there are chances of golf ball-sized hail, damaging winds of up to 70 mph, and brief tornadoes.

Indivisible Joplin has said from the start that the safety of our attendees is our number one priority, so we feel that it is irresponsible to hold our event outside in these conditions.

We will be releasing a rescheduled date as soon as possible.

We know that this is disappointing. Our team has been as excited as you are, so we are feeling it too. We hope you will be able to stand with us on our rescheduled date.

In solidarity,

The Indivisible Joplin Team
